ST. MARTIN COOP GOING GREENER

On August 6, 2022 BOD Chairperson Danilo Esteban, CEO Serafin Celestino Jr. and Former chief justice Reynato Puno, chairman of GenWATT Energy Solutions, leads the inauguration and ceremonial switch-on of the solar energy system on the building of the St. Martin of Tours Credit and Development Cooperative in Bunlo, Bocaue, Bulacan,

According to the former Chief Justice, this could be the first step to the switch to renewable energy for cost savings and a cleaner community in the province of Bulacan.

For his part, CEO Celestino stressed that our transition to solar energy is not only in compliance with CDA memo circular 2021-07 wherein cooperatives are encouraged to implement sound environmental practices but this is also aligned with our core values of having a social responsibility to the community and environment where the Cooperative operates.  He added that resorting to efficient use of renewable energy like solar energy could significantly lessen the demand for coal-dependent electricity and at the same time, help generate reliable, clean and cost-effective energy.
